Our newest addition made her appearance into the world last night at 8:10. It was a super quick delivery lasting less then an hour. Let me back up a bit though. So, I was 40 weeks going on 41 weeks pregnant. I was getting huge and super tired since sleep had been non exist ant the last few weeks. My mom suggested we tried castor oil, and so we made up a concoction that my mom got from her friend Stephanie. I drank that around 2:15.
I ended up throwing up the castor oil drink, and thinking that was that. I'll just have to wait for the baby to come on its own! So, I went about the day feeling good. No contractions, nothing! At 7:15 I started to get intense contractions. We started timing them and they were coming 2-4 min. apart. I called my midwife around 7:40 to let her know that things seemed to be progressing. The contractions were getting more, and more intense. I moved over to the couch to kneel and see if that would relieve some pain.
My water broke with the next contraction and my body told me it was time to push this baby out. I crawled from the couch to our bedroom scared that I wasn't going to make it. As soon as I got on the bed and Ruben checked me he could already see the baby's head. I pushed two times and she was here! Ruben caught her and was able to announce to my surprise that the baby was a little girl.
It was an amazing labor and delivery with no stitches and a healthy mom and baby. So thankful to The Lord that He protected little Olivia and I. I will admit I was a bit scared having an unexpected unassisted home birth but grateful for my husband being there for me.

Welcome Olivia Grace! Praising the Lord for His hand over your delivery and for "grace" when it was needed! Our first girl {4th child} is Alyssa Grace...a lovely middle name. May your recovery be as quick as your birth. ;D
